Joyway vs Merax Luggage Specs
Set Composition
Edge: Merax 13-Piece Luggage Set with Bags
The Merax set is the larger option, containing 13 pieces. It includes four suitcases in 16, 20, 24, and 28-inch sizes, plus a handle travel bag and eight clothes bags. The Joyway set is smaller, with seven pieces. It provides suitcases in 13, 18, 20, and 24-inch sizes, along with a travel bag and a toiletry bag. Merax offers more individual items and smaller carry-on options. Joyway focuses on a more compact collection with a dedicated toiletry bag instead of multiple clothes bags. You get more accessories with Merax, while Joyway keeps the count lower.
Expandable Capacity
Edge: Joyway 7-Piece Hardside Luggage Set
Joyway explicitly lists expandable capacity as a key feature. You can add 20% more space to the 18, 20, and 24-inch suitcases. This allows for extra packing room when needed. The data for the Merax set does not mention expandable layers or additional capacity features. Both sets use ABS hardside shells, but only Joyway provides the option to increase volume in specific sizes. If you frequently pack more than usual, the expandable design in the Joyway set is a practical advantage. Merax relies on fixed internal dimensions for storage.
Wheel Design
Edge: Tie
Both brands equip their luggage with multi-directional spinner wheels. Joyway describes them as 360-degree spinner wheels that offer great maneuverability in multiple directions. Merax specifies low-profile silent spinner wheels that rotate 360 degrees. Both designs allow you to push the luggage sideways or pull it behind you with ease. The Merax description emphasizes the silent operation and professional appearance. Joyway highlights the general ease of movement. Since both offer 360-degree rotation, the maneuverability is functionally identical. The silent feature is noted for Merax, but both provide smooth rolling.
Weight and Build
Edge: Merax 13-Piece Luggage Set with Bags
The listed weight for the Joyway set is 30 pounds. The Merax set weighs 20 pounds. Both use ABS hardside material for durability. Merax also mentions reinforced corner guards to minimize damage. Joyway notes the lightweight nature of the ABS material. The significant weight difference suggests Merax may use thinner materials or lighter components, or the weight calculation differs due to the larger number of pieces. For travelers concerned with airline weight limits, the lighter Merax set offers a clear benefit. The Joyway set is heavier, which might impact your packing allowance.
Interior Organization
Edge: Joyway 7-Piece Hardside Luggage Set
Joyway features zipper dividers and cross-organizer pockets inside the luggage. It also uses double-layered YKK zippers for strong anti-explosion performance. Merax offers a fully lined interior with a zippered compartment to keep items organized. It includes low-profile top and side handles. The data does not specify the zipper brand or type for Merax. Joyway provides more detailed information about its internal organization systems and zipper quality. Merax confirms a zippered compartment but lacks specific details on dividers or zipper durability. Joyway offers more transparency regarding its interior storage features.
